Refinancing — things people want to know
If your rate is more than 0.5% above what's available, it's usually worth looking at. Even a small rate drop on a big loan can save you hundreds a month. I'll run the numbers so you can see exactly what you'd save.
My service is free. Some lenders charge a discharge fee on your old loan (usually $300-400) and there may be government fees. I'll factor all costs into the comparison so you know the real savings.
Usually 2-4 weeks from go to done. I handle the paperwork, liaise with both your old and new lender, and keep you updated. You barely have to do anything.
A credit enquiry will show on your file, but it's minor. If you're refinancing to a better deal, the long-term benefit far outweighs a small enquiry. I'll only submit one application to the right lender.
You can, but there may be break costs. I'll check with your current lender first so you know exactly what the exit cost is. Sometimes it's still worth switching even with break costs — sometimes it's better to wait. I'll give you the full picture.
